Snow CLI v0.9.11

What's New
  • MCP custom API mode: MCP servers now support type: "api" (plus an explicit sse transport), mapping plain HTTP endpoints to MCP tools without spawning a subprocess or keeping a persistent connection. Endpoint definitions cover method/path, per-endpoint headers, shared cookies, parameters in query/path/header/body with types, required flags and default values, and none/json/form/multipart/raw bodies with {{param}} templates (typed placeholders, missing optional params pruned automatically). Configs copied from Snow APP's API-type MCP servers work as-is, including the args: {cookies, endpoints} database format; validation requires a URL and at least one endpoint
  • Safer tool-call correction: automatic argument repair is now limited to tools shipped by Snow. User-configured MCP server tools are excluded because retrying unknown side effects could duplicate writes, and terminal-execute, session-command-run, scheduler-schedule_task plus every team- / subagent- tool are never silently repaired. Built-in tool prefixes are centralized in a single allowlist shared by tool discovery and correction

Read full notes

Snow CLI v0.9.9

What's New
  • Tool-call correction: the new /tool-correction command (on / off / status) enables automatic repair of failed tool arguments by the active profile's basic model (falling back to the advanced model). Only argument-level failures are retried, up to 3 repairs per failed invocation; permission, network, timeout and user-cancellation errors pass through unchanged. Repaired terminal-execute commands are re-checked against sensitive-command rules, askuser-ask_question is never auto-corrected, and a live repairing / retrying / repaired / gave-up indicator is shown in the status line. The setting is project-scoped (toolCorrectionEnabled) and enabled by default
  • OAuth identity headers as editable schemes: fixed provider identity headers (Codex, Claude, Antigravity) are no longer hardcoded in request code; sign-in now creates and binds same-named custom header schemes (Codex / Claude / Antigravity), so you can inspect and adjust them in the Custom Headers settings while account-level dynamic headers such as chatgpt-account-id are still injected per request. A one-time startup migration creates and binds schemes for legacy OAuth profiles
  • No-op edit protection: edit-by-search and hashline edit tools now reject edits that would leave the file unchanged instead of reporting success with an empty diff, and the DiffViewer plus the pending diff collector drop no-change entries, including results restored from older sessions or logs
  • Docs and i18n: command panel documentation and the en / zh / zh-TW strings are updated for the new tool-correction command and OAuth header scheme behavior

Snow CLI v0.9.8

What's New
  • Terminal shell preference: a new terminalShell setting (auto, pwsh, powershell, cmd, git-bash) is exposed through an interactive config selector, and Windows shell resolution now honors the chosen shell with automatic fallback so commands run in the shell you expect
  • MCP resilience and process hygiene: a two-tier MCP tool catalog disk cache with config-hash validation and hit/miss statistics, a circuit breaker that fast-fails dead or unreachable MCP servers after 2 consecutive failures and recovers via a single canary probe after a 2-minute cooldown, and unified cross-platform process-tree termination (recursive POSIX descendant reaping plus process-group kill, Windows taskkill /T) so aborted or timed-out commands no longer leave orphaned children
  • Pending message delivery: user messages queued while a tool call is running are now injected reliably at the end of the tool round, guarded by a timing signal that never interleaves them into an unclosed tool_call turn
  • Session compression and resume fixes: compression now resolves and injects the current active user request instead of falling back to the ancient root prompt, and a new canonical path utility normalizes separators for consistent cross-platform path handling
  • Config plane and i18n: a SNOW_CONFIG_DIR environment override for the global config directory, plus restoration of i18n keys and the awaiting-first-token label that were lost during recent merges

Snow CLI v0.9.7

What's New
  • Perceptual theme engine: a new zero-dependency OKLCH color engine with bisection gamut mapping and W3C APCA readability gates powers the custom theme screen, adding 7 built-in presets (Dracula, Monokai, Solarized, Catppuccin, Gruvbox, Nord, Neon) and an APCA-driven dynamic contrast boost in DiffViewer for accessible syntax diffing
  • Lively token awaiting indicator: the frozen "0 tokens" placeholder shown while waiting for the first streamed token (TTFT) is replaced with a dynamic awaiting state, falling back to a compact "···" on terminals narrower than 60 columns
  • Session resume and compression fixes: context summary prefixes are filtered out when resolving the initial user prompt so compression summaries are no longer hijacked by the ancient root prompt, and genuinely completed tool calls no longer leave ghost pending cards when a session is resumed
  • Core robustness fixes: background codebase indexing is skipped when the workspace is the home directory, a root drive, or a multi-user root (with grep/rg depth safeguards and broader system directory excludes), and /clear no longer blocks on Stop-The-World GC while preserving persistent MCP connections and tool caches
  • Clean terminal exit: focus reporting is disabled on all exit paths (exit, SIGINT, SIGTERM, uncaughtException) so no ^[[I/^[[O bracketed garbage leaks into the shell, and cursor visibility and default shape are restored

Snow CLI v0.9.6

What's New
  • Sensitive command decision model assist: a configured decision model can pre-evaluate a sensitive command before the confirmation prompt. Enable it and pick a model in the sensitive command settings screen; the verdict and reason are shown in the confirmation dialog. Optional delegate mode makes the verdict take effect directly (allow or deny), otherwise it is advisory only. Any failure falls back to the normal confirmation prompt and never auto-allows

Snow CLI v0.9.5

What's New
  • New Resource Manager panel (/taskmanager): monitor CPU and memory usage of the main process and its child processes, and terminate processes directly from the panel
  • MCP tool discovery: two-track catalog JIT architecture removes discovery latency, keeps the LLM prompt cache intact (no more 5-minute TTL timer), and collapses concurrent probing into a single flight
  • AskUserQuestion: restored the multi-select contract and fixed an interaction deadlock (#220)
  • Thinking output: markdown code fences are protected and newlines are preserved when cleaning thinking content (#216)
  • Anthropic: added a display option for the new adaptive thinking models so reasoning text is visible in streaming responses
  • Anthropic OAuth: subscription requests now use the Claude Code beta endpoint and client headers, fixing 404 errors; model list requests no longer duplicate the /v1 path segment
  • Developer: established the TUI component testing conventions and infrastructure (#222)

Snow CLI v0.8.32

What's New
  • Enhanced image content processing: images in data URL, http(s) URL, or raw base64 format are now handled uniformly, with bare base64 automatically completed into a data URL to prevent 400 errors from servers that reject malformed image URLs
  • Optimized inline image sending for tool messages: images are inlined as image_url content blocks within the tool message itself (DeepSeek Vision scheme), instead of being split into separate user messages
  • Profile switching safety: configuration updates now read the active profile's current content from disk before writing back, so a profile switched elsewhere (e.g., via Alt+P in another session or instance) is no longer overwritten with stale in-memory baseUrl/apiKey values
  • New SNOW_CONFIG_DIR environment variable to override the Snow global config directory (default ~/.snow), useful for multi-environment and test isolation
